How Thumbtack works
On Thumbtack you describe your project — in your own words, or with photos or voice in its newer experience — and answer a few questions. Thumbtack shows local pros that match, with profiles, photos of past work and reviews. You reach out to the pros you like and discuss job details, scheduling and pricing before you hire.
Pros on Thumbtack pay for leads: they set a price per lead and are charged when a matching customer contacts them. Thumbtack removed its Instant Book option for pros in November 2024.
